Overview

We take pride in offering quality veterinary services for your pets.

We are PetVet Lower Hutt, and while our branding dates to the 90’s, our history and client relationships date back as far as the 1950’s. Our mission is to provide our clients and pets with excellent veterinary service within a friendly and caring environment.

It takes 5 years intensive university study to qualify as a veterinarian then a life long continuing education programme to stay up-to-date. The combined experience among our current Veterinary team exceeds 100 years!

Our nurses are a knowledgeable group of dedicated veterinary health professionals. Their education and training provide you and your pet with a high standard of care. While ensuring your pets comfort as an inpatient, they also prepare your pet for surgery, ensure correct anaesthetic delivery and monitoring, manage fluid therapy and implement post operative pain and wound management plans. When required, they also help during complex surgical procedures. They obtain and process radiographs, collect and process samples for laboratory analysis, scale and polish teeth and conduct nurse consults.

As a team we are incredibly proud of our recent Silver status certification with ISFM as a Cat Friendly Clinic. One of our fabulous nurses set this goal to be achieved by the time she went on maternity leave. She led our team through the steps and education required successfully achieving this prior to her baby girl arriving!
