I became the owner of the HVC in 2011.
On graduating I served time in rural mixed-practice in the South Island before journeying to Scotland, UK in 1998.

There I worked and led a large multi-branch companion animal practice for 10 years before returning to my home town of Christchurch.
I then became the clinical director of the After Hours and Emergency Centre before joining the HVC.
Because I have worked in practices with busy surgical case loads and completed further surgical and critical care study and training, I am fortunate to have gained significant experience in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery , and trauma management.
My particular areas of interest include cruciate ligament injury, patellar luxation, fracture repair, ear surgery and skin/plastic reconstructive repair.
To provide better patient care, earlier diagnosis and a faster return to good health I have invested heavily in state of the art laboratory equipment. This allows for a wide array of tests to be run immediately on site.
I am a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons UK, the Veterinary Information Network, the NZ Veterinary Association and a NZ representative on the IDEXX Asia-Pacific Advisory Board.
My three teenage boys keep my wife and I on our toes, and when time allows I like to escape to the mountains and rivers.
I invite all clients and prospective clients to visit with any questions and feedback.
