BVSc CertSAS MANZCVS (Small Animal Surgery)
Dr. Chris Franklin joined Peninsula Vet Emergency and Referral Hospital (ERH) in 2010. Chris is also a proud Peninsula Vet Partner.
Chris graduated from Liverpool University in 1995 with a commendation. He went on to spend time in mixed-practice veterinary clinics until 2000. In 2005 he obtained his CertSAS qualification, an advanced practitioner-level surgical qualification. In 2007 he arrived on the Mornington Peninsula.
He became a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Surgery in 2016, and an examiner for the college two years later. Chris has been a surgical resident studying under Dr Arthur House since 2018.
Dr Chris takes great professional satisfaction in providing owners with honest, up-to-date advice and care for their beloved pets. He has a soft spot for Brachycephalic patients, having had a long-term relationship with pugs SOS, a locally-based but Australia-wide rescue charity.
His special interests include:
- Joint replacement surgery
- Complex fracture orthopaedics
- 3D Printing of models for orthopaedic surgical planning
- Brachycephalic patients and Pug breeds.
His pet family has never been so small. Currently, the only dog love of his life is a 14-year-old Whippet named Lizzie. She was found without a microchip wandering Mornington’s streets and rescued from the pound.
