Elaine graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1987 with a Bachelor Of Veterinary Science. She has been the Principal surgeon and owner of the Box Hill Veterinary Hospital since 1995. The clinic moved to an upgraded purpose built site in Balwyn in 2018.
The hospital achieved ASAVA accreditation as a Hospital of Excellence in 2003. There are only 14 clinics in Victoria with this status.
This status was solely pursued due to devotion to patients. The rigorous standards set ensure the clinic provides the best of care as well as practise medicine and surgery to the highest standards.
Her philosophy is to provide preventative and holistic care to the patients in a caring and compassionate environment. The clinic is also an academic associate of Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Melbourne.
Elaine was Member of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Melbourne from 2004 till 2010.
She is the Principal Veterinary surgeon for Guide Dogs Victoria. Her focus and mission is to keep all the pups and dogs in good health; practicing preventative health care, updated medicine and surgery.
In her spare time, Elaine works tirelessly as a volunteer to promote better standards of animal welfare in parts of Asia and volunteers during disasters in Victoria.

Founder and Principal Trainer of the Train the Trainers Project in China to teach Vets who are champions of animal welfare .The project has seen over 2500 Vets trained and 8 provinces reached.
A Founding member of the Australian Veterinary Association Emergency Taskforce following the Black Saturday bushfires.
Volunteer veterinarian and specialist darter for wildlife in Victoria during emergencies and on a regular basis for injured and displaced macropods in suburbia and outer Melbourne.
Elaine was awarded the Belle Reid Medal by the University of Melbourne in 2009 for her significant contribution towards animal welfare in her pioneering projects and volunteer work. This award was bestowed to the top 100 women veterinarians in the world.
Elaine was awarded Citizen of the Year by the Broondara council in 2021 for her services to animal welfare and the community.
