Joanne graduated from the University of Queensland in 1986. Her first job was in small animal practice in Sydney’s Western suburbs where she worked for 2 years before heading overseas.
Based in the UK, she enjoyed working at a range of different practices in varied areas whilst also doing a lot of traveling.
Returning to Brisbane in 1991, Joanne commenced working as a veterinary locum but was soon employed in a fulltime position managing a clinic at Camira.
She and Calum met at university and were married in 1988. Their first son, Declan, was born in 1997 and Angus followed in 1998.
Since 2001, she has loved being a part of Clayfield Veterinary Clinic. To be able to work in such a beautiful area, with devoted clients and their amazing pets is something she appreciates everyday. The relationships that have formed as she meets ongoing family generations and the privilege of having cared for many pets for their entire lives are very special.
