Dr Merianna graduated from Murdoch University with distinction in 2020. She was awarded the Marilyn Alder Award for Clinical Proficiency. Merianna completed her rotating and surgical internships at Southpaws after graduation before commencing a Residency in Small Animal Surgery in 2023.

Merianna has interests in soft tissue surgery and wound reconstruction. Before embarking on her veterinary career, Merianna was a high school Mathematics and English teacher, and a textbook editor. Outside of work, Merianna is an avid gardener and knitter.
